A little bit of our story
The roots of Agência Funerária Neves grew in the village of Altares, under the guidance of Mr. António Neves. A carpenter by trade, he crafted, among many other things, the “black coffins” in his workshop for the deceased of Altares and neighboring villages.
Always looking towards the future, and due to the demand for his work, the idea of creating his own funeral agency emerged.
In 1996, he acquired his first funeral car and, with three employees, inaugurated Agência Funerária Neves.
The high demand for our services from the population of Terceira Island led to the need to open a branch in the city of Angra do Heroísmo at the end of 1996, a central and easily accessible location with the necessary facilities. We established an office and funeral urn display, offering round-the-clock service.
Always with the vision of improving the conditions for those who need our services and with the aim of offering the utmost comfort in difficult times, on December 2, 2007, Agência Funerária Neves inaugurated its current facilities.
Agência Funerária Neves is proud to be the first to offer a unique space in the Azores, providing a reception area, wake rooms thoughtfully decorated, kitchens, and rest areas.
